    The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade funds a talent support programme for exchange students, the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship, to attract high-achieving international students who wish to enrol in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme as exchange students at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ.

  • Eligibility criteria

    • International applicants from the selected countries mentioned below
    • Applying for an exchange programme at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
    • Must be accepted into their chosen exchange programme.
    • Excellent academic performance during their studies.
    • Nominated by their home university.
    • Applicants must not be beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s State Financial Aid for Higher Education (formerly CEDIES)

    Exchange students from the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ’s partner universities in:

    • Australia
    • Brazil
    • Canada
    • South Korea
    • ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõted States of America (USA)
    • Indonesia
    • Japan
    • ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõted Kingdom (UK)
    • Singapore
    • Thailand
    • Vietnam
  • Number of recipients

    Equal amount per faculty, average of 5 per faculty but differs each year

  • Duration

    One semester/ two semesters

  • Amount

    The stipend amounts to approximately â‚¬5,763 per semester, including housing.

    Scholarship benefits:
    One part of the scholarship covers student accommodation, while the remaining portion is provided as a monetary allowance paid in installments. For exchange students, these installments are disbursed at the beginning and end of the exchange semester.

    Conditions:
    The scholarship is subject to performance evaluation and may be withdrawn in cases such as academic misconduct, poor academic performance, or withdrawal from the programme.

    Restrictions:
    The scholarship cannot be combined with any other grant financed by the Luxembourg government or with a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsor in Luxembourg.

    Accommodation

    Part of the scholarship is used to fund the student’s accommodation in a university residence for the duration of the exchange programme, ranging from â‚¬500 to €650 per month, for a maximum of one year.

    The scholarship does not cover the security deposit or home insurance.

    Students are required to apply for accommodation in a timely manner and carefully follow the provided instructions and deadlines in the accommodation section.

  • Application procedure

    Application deadline for the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship: 

    • 15 May â€“ for the winter semester or full academic year
    • 1 November â€“ for the summer semester

    1. Apply for the exchange programme:

    First, students need to be nominated to our incoming office and invited to apply to the exchange programme at the university of Luxembourg.

    2. Evaluation of your exchange application:

    Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to the programme director of the selected Master’s programme.

    3. Scholarship application:

    • Students from the mentioned partner countries are automatically eligible to be considered for the Exchange Scholarship and will compete with other applicants for that semester.

    We encourage you to follow these steps carefully to ensure that your application is managed efficiently.

  • Evaluation and selection

    • Once all applications have been received, students will be ranked based on academic performance. Only the selected students will be notified if they have been awarded the scholarship.
    • Upon arrival at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, scholarship recipients will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a sworn declaration accepting the terms and conditions of the Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship.

    The stipend amounts to approximately â‚¬1200 per month.

    The scholarship is subject to performance evaluation and may be withdrawn in cases such as academic misconduct, unsatisfactory academic performance, or withdrawal from the programme.

    The scholarship cannot be combined with any other grant financed by the Luxembourg government or with a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsor in Luxembourg.

  • Application procedure

    1. Applications deadlines:

    Applications for the Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship are accepted continuously throughout the year. Applicants are nominated by their home university.

    2. Evaluation of your application:

    Once your application is complete, be evaluated by the international relations office, who will get back to you with regards to your application.

    3. Scholarship application:

    • Students from the mentioned partner countries, will automatically be eligible to be considered for the PhD Scholarship, and will compete amongst other applicants that semester.

    We encourage you to follow these steps carefully to ensure that your application is managed efficiently.

  • Evaluation and selection

    Selection based on excellency, academic performance will be considered.

    • After all the applications have been received, PhD’s students will be ranked based on their academic performance.
    •  Afterwards, only selected students will be notified if they have received the scholarship.

    Upon arrival at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ in scholarship recipients will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a sworn declaration accepting the terms and conditions of the Guillaume Dupaix International  Scholarship.

    The ICM program aims to enhance international cooperation and exchange of knowledge.
    It allows students from partner universities abroad to study at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ.

    Exchange programme between EU and non-EU universities.

  • Eligibility criteria

    Students must be enrolled in a degree program at their home university, have completed at least one year of studies, and have a good academic standing. They need to officially be nominated by their international relations office to our international scholarships officer.

    Students need to register for a minimum of 25 ECTS in order to be eligible for the ICM scholarship. 

    Students coming from universities in:

    • Albania
    • Australia
    • Bosnia
    • Canada
    • Georgia
    • India
    • Jordan
    • Senegal
    • Tunisia
    • Ukraine
  • Number of recipients


    24 (+/- 2 per country)

  • Duration

    One semester.

    The duration of the mobility is for one semester at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, lasting around 5 months. 

  • Amount

    The program covers travel costs, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.

    The grant is calculated based on the distance between the home university and the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, as well as the number of days of the mobility.

  • Application procedure

    Students need to be nominated by their home university through the incoming office’s nomination call. Once the nomination has been accepted, students will need to apply to the university themselves.

    The application process typically involves submitting an application form through our portal, a motivation letter, academic transcripts, a copy of their passport, amongst other documents.

  • Evaluation and selection


    Once their application has been completed, it will be sent for review to our programme directors. After they have been admitted, they will be informed by our incoming office.

    ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ.lu bachelor students with outstanding academic performance

    3 students per faculty

  • Duration

    3 weeks. Starting at the end of June or early July, until late July.

  • Amount

    The cost of the flights, accommodation and summer school are covered by the university of Luxembourg and Sophia ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity.

  • Application procedure

    Students need to apply according to the instructions sent by the faculty in January , these instructions will be shared via Moodle, and sometimes via email.

    Students need to apply to the point of contact at their faculty and need to prepare a written motivation letter. Both the motivation letter and academic performance will be taken into account.

    Documents needed:

    • Recent transcript of records
    • Motivation letter

    In case any other documents might seem relevant, they can be added too.

    Apply via the link/email sent via Moodle by your faculty.

    Applications are usually processed around the end of February.
    Please follow the deadlines mentioned on Moodle.

  • Evaluation and selection

    This programme is based on excellence, and students are chosen based on their excellent and outstanding academic performance.

    Applications received after the mentioned deadlines will not be considered.

    Talent support stipend aimed at attracting high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a Master’s program at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ. No registration/tuition fees waiver possible.

  • Eligibility criteria

    Full-time successful applicants aiming to pursue a Master’s degree at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, regardless of the field of study. Not eligible: Master’s programs requiring a mandatory semester or year abroad and applicants/recipients of the Luxembourg’s State Financial Aid for Higher Education (formerly CEDIES).

  • Number of recipients

    30 students per annum (10 per faculty) with the following distribution:

    Regular students regardless of their country of origin15 students
    Students from target countries15 students from the Western Balkans, Ibero-American countries, Thailand, Vietnam, Belarus, Egypt, India, Moldova, Russia, the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõted Kingdom, Turkey, Ukraine
  • Duration

    Up to 2 years = standard duration of a Master’s degree

  • Amount

    5.763€ per semester = 11.526€ per annum, covering living expenses + accommodation, not tuition fees.

  • Application procedure

    The scholarship application is part of the application to the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ Master’s programmes and cannot be made via email. Apply here: Bachelor & Master – ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ

    Step 1: Master’s application by 24 March 2026
    Submission of Master’s applications via the online admissions portal and assessment of academic excellence by the Directors of each Master’s program.

    Step 2: Scholarship application by 24 March 2026
    Email invitations to apply for the Guillaume Dupaix scholarship are sent to the students whose applications are deemed excellent by the Master Study Programmes.

    Step 3: Missing documents by 31 March 2026
    Last call for submitting any missing documents for the scholarship applications.

  • Evaluation and selection

    Step 4: Outcome by 15 May 2026
    Successful and unsuccessful applicants are informed via email.

    Step 5: Acceptance within 3 working days
    Successful applicants are invited to confirm the acceptance of the scholarship offer.

    Step 6: Agreement by fall 2026
    Scholarship recipients are invited to sign the scholarship agreement.
