HERO II builds on the HERO study, which highlighted the wellbeing benefits of child participation in residential care settings in Luxembourg. This follow-on project explores: (i) social care professionals’ understanding of child participation, (ii) practices for including children in decisions about their welfare, and (iii) challenges to implementing participatory approaches. The study surveys professionals through an online questionnaire to gain deeper insights into participation practices and barriers. The findings aim to enhance the implementation of child participation principles, improving support for vulnerable children in residential care.
