Didac Martinez Granado is a postdoctoral researcher in low-dimensional geometry and topology at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, working with Jean-Marc Schlenker’s group. He is an FNR AFR postdoctoral fellow jointly with NUS, Singapore, from June 15, 2023, to June 14, 2025. Starting on June 15, 2025, he will be funded by a Marie Curie MSCA Fellowship.

His research is at the crossroads of hyperbolic geometry, Teichmüller theory, and geometric group theory.

He has taught a range of courses from lower-division (Calculus, Discrete Math) to upper-division (Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry, General Topology, Probability) at Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity and the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity of California, Davis. He has experience mentoring graduate students. Additionally, he has mentored 21 undergraduate students in independent research courses and programs (Research Experience for Undergraduates, Laboratory of Geometry, Directed Reading Program) at UC Davis, the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity of Michigan, and Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity, where he also founded a Geometry Lab. He is actively concerned with representation and equity in mathematics and has organized reading groups on these topics.

He has participated in several science festivals and served on science juries. Examples include the RISE STEM summer scholar program (Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity), McCormick Creek’s Elementary Math/Science Night volunteer (Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity), Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity Science Fest, judging at the Science Fair for Ivy Tech Community College, volunteering at the Mathematical Games Workshop (Indiana), and participating in the Cambridge Millennium Math Project (Cambridge, UK).

He has been awarded a MSCA Marie Curie Fellowship 2023.

He was a Krener Assistant Professor at ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity of California, Davis from July 2020 until May 2023 and has been a postdoctoral researcher at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ since June 2023.

He obtained his double bachelor’s degree in mathematics and theoretical physics at the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a master’s degree at Cambridge ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Indiana ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõversity.
