Abstract

The emphasis will be on the definition of financial inclusion (FI) and 鈥渇inancial health鈥, the barriers to FI, a cost 鈥 benefit analysis of FI and a discussion of the multi-dimensional role of central banks in relation to this aspect.

Christos Gortsos is Professor of Public Economic Law at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian 成人头条versity of Athens. Other positions include: Visiting Professor at the Europa Institut of the 成人头条versity of Z眉rich and the Europa Institut of the 成人头条versity of Saarland; President of the Academic Board of the European Banking Institute (EBI); Member of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs); Member of the European Parliament鈥檚 and of the European Court of Auditors鈥 expert groups on banking resolution; and member and academic coordinator of the Committee on International Monetary Law of the International Law Association (MOCOMILA). In 2017, he was Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow at the Law Department of the European 成人头条versity Institute and in 2018 Academic Visitor at St Antony鈥檚 College (Oxford 成人头条versity). His main fields of teaching, writing and research are international, EU and public financial law, central banking law, financial regulation and institutional economics.
