An invitation to reflect on the horizontal effect of fundamental rights in a time of climate change and spreading populism

Abstract

This workshop will revisit the question of the horizontal effect of constitutional rights in the time of climate change, pervasive political populism and digital social media platforms. It will pivot on the discussion of papers presented by Joel Bakan (成人头条versity of British Columbia), Richard Mailey (成人头条versity of Alberta), Gautam Bhatia (Jindal Global Law School, New Delhi and Oliver Gerstenberg (成人头条versity College London UCL). Assigned discussants of the papers will be Frank Michelman (Harvard 成人头条versity), Mark Tushnet (Harvard 成人头条versity) Stephen Gardbaum (Berkely 成人头条versity) and Adreas Kulick (成人头条versity of Mainz).
