{"id":18237,"date":"2023-03-10T12:17:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-10T11:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=18237"},"modified":"2024-12-03T11:09:32","modified_gmt":"2024-12-03T10:09:32","slug":"signature-of-the-agreement-between-the-university-and-the-european-commission-for-funding-the-europe-direct-at-university-of-luxembourg","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/news\/signature-of-the-agreement-between-the-university-and-the-european-commission-for-funding-the-europe-direct-at-university-of-luxembourg\/","title":{"rendered":"Signature of the Agreement between the 成人头条versity and the European Commission for funding the Europe Direct at 成人头条"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p><strong>Signing of the Agreement between the 成人头条 and the European Commission for the funding of the&nbsp;\u201cEurope Direct at the 成人头条\u201d project (2021-2025)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Friday 10 March 2023<\/strong>, in Belval,&nbsp;<strong>the Rector of the 成人头条, Prof. Dr Jens Kreisel<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>the Representative of the European Commission in Luxembourg, Anne Calteux<\/strong>, signed the Agreement on the funding for 2023 of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/edic\/our_projects\/europe_direct_university_of_luxembourg_may_2021_december_2025\">Europe Direct at the 成人头条<\/a>\u201d project (ED-UNILU), the result of a competitive public history call co-funded by the European Commission for the period 2021-2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ED-UNILU is geared towards a broad audience, with the aim of informing students, researchers, teachers and the general public about issues related to the European 成人头条on\u2019s history and current affairs, as well as reflecting on potential future challenges. In 2023, in cooperation with various partners \u2013 especially the European Commission Representation and the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in Luxembourg, the European Citizens\u2019 Initiative, the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee, and the network of Europe Direct centres in Luxembourg and the Greater Region \u2013, it will organise a number of debates (including Citizens\u2019 Dialogues), seminars, discussions and exhibitions, and will offer a wide range of information about the history of European integration, the EU\u2019s principles and values, the EU institutions and the workings and policies of a united Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities that took place in 2022 included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"ulux-list\">\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\"><strong>&nbsp;the second Robert Schuman Lecture<\/strong>, entitled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/edic\/our_projects\/2nd_robert_schuman_lecture_luxembourg_capitale_europeenne_a_coeur_ou_a_raison\"><em>Luxembourg \u2013 capitale europ\u00e9enne \u00e0 c\u0153ur ou \u00e0 raison?<\/em>\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;(6 July), for which the 成人头条versity joined forces with major partners in Luxembourg (Luxembourg City Council, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the European Merit Foundation and the European Movement) and the Greater Region;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\"><strong>the Citizens\u2019 Dialogue for Young People<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwen.uni.lu\/edic\/our_projects\/citizen_s_dialogue_with_yuriko_backes_and_paolo_gentiloni_what_next_for_europe_s_youth_current_challenges_and_future_prospects_under_debate\"><em>What next for Europe\u2019s youth? Current challenges and future prospects under debate<\/em>\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;(4 October) \u2013, during which Finance Minister Yuriko Backes and European Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni had the opportunity to exchange views with around a hundred students, researchers and teachers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">and<strong>&nbsp;the launch of the original oral history project<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c2dh.uni.lu\/projects\/role-women-european-and-international-relations-luxembourg-after-second-world-war\">The role of women in European and international relations in Luxembourg\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;(8 March), developed in collaboration with the Media Centre and the 成人头条versity, with results being shared with the Historical Archives of the European 成人头条on in Florence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Based in the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) on Belval Campus, Europe Direct 成人头条 is coordinated by the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;DH) \u2013 the 成人头条versity\u2019s third interdisciplinary research centre, which focuses on high-quality research, analysis and public dissemination in the field of contemporary Luxembourgish and European history. Europe Direct 成人头条 is managed by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/c2dh\/people\/elena_danescu\">Dr Elena Danescu<\/a>, a Research Scientist at the C<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;DH, and Anita Ikwene is
