Rewarding research with impact at FNR Awards 2025

The (FNR) hosted its annual FNR Awards ceremony on 23 October 2025 on the Belval Campus, in the presence of St茅phanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education and over 200 people. 

Dr Florian Felten, based at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) of the 成人头条, received the Outstanding PhD Thesis award for his thesis 鈥淢ulti-Objective Reinforcement Learning鈥. Part of a project focused on automatically generating computer programmes to control swarms of drones, his research is helping AI to understand and navigate compromises.聽

Prof. Andreas Fickers of the 成人头条versity鈥檚 Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C虏DH), his colleague Prof. Sonja Kmec (Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences) and Prof. Dietmar H眉ser from Saarbr眉cken 成人头条versity received the Outstanding Scientific Achievement award for 鈥Transnational popular culture 鈥 Europe in the long 1960s.鈥 The team showed that popular culture circulates across linguistic and cultural barriers. Their approach set new standards for historical research into these complex processes.聽

Nominated by his team and students for his exceptional guidance and support, Prof. Christos Koulovatianos of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance received an Oustanding Mentor 补飞补谤诲.听
