The 成人头条versity and spin-off NIUM are reinforcing their relationship by signing a second license agreement, through which NIUM will further develop and use MicroGut technology, an in vitro gut-on-a-chip device conceived at 成人头条versity鈥檚 Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine, which emulates the human gastrointestinal tract on a chip, for testing the impact of food products and ingredients on microbiome and metabolism.
is a spin-off of the 成人头条, created in 2019 by Dr Alberto Noronha, a former researcher at 成人头条, and Dr Adam Selamnia, a seasoned entrepreneur, with the mission of bringing digital personalised nutrition to the consumer鈥檚 world. Since its inception, NIUM has been further working towards developing a food testing platform for microbiome, nutrition, and cancer. By expanding its technological portfolio with additional developments from 成人头条versity, NIUM will now combine in silico and in vitro approaches to offer personalised nutrition solutions and enable a better understanding of metabolism and health.
The signature of this second license illustrates the 成人头条versity鈥檚 dedication to creating societal impact through knowledge and technology transfer. In 2019, the Office for Partnerships, Knowledge and Technology Transfer was brought to life, with Christophe Haunold recruited to lead its development. A brand-new Intellectual Property Policy now frames the way the 成人头条versity manages the valuable results generated within its research departments and promotes the transfer of 成人头条versity-borne innovations towards partners and spin-off ventures. It sets forward the support and benefits the 成人头条versity can provide to its researchers and its entrepreneurs in their venture, as well as it sets the principles for licensing revenue distribution, as an incentive for more innovation and impact creation.
